Penetration testing covers various procedures that verify the completeness of the network security policy, as well as the correctness of the technical security controls and of the network security protocols that have been implemented. The course focuses on basic network-level and system-level penetration testing methodologies and tools. The theoretical part of the course includes penetration testing methodologies, both at the network level and at the system level. In the practical part, penetration testing tools are applied, through the examination of actual security incidents. The purpose of these audits is to validate the effectiveness of security measures. The course involves the theoretical study and the practical application of penetration testing methodologies and tools, as well as advanced techniques such as privilege escalation and pivoting.
